As with many of the world's treasures, photos do not do it justice. Although the lanterns are not made from luxury material, they're handcrafted carefully from old town artists and their sñecially made for good fortune and love. Vietnamese people believe that lighting lanterns and floating them on the river can bring the health and happiness. Thus, you can participate in this ritual on a daily basis in Hoi An.

We also ventured down to Hoi An for one night and explored this marvelous 15th century trading port, famous for its architecture and abundance of laterns. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, this city holds a well-lit daily night market and offers a dreamy beachtown vibe away from the hustle and bustle of Da Nang. If you have the time, spend 2-3 days here and you won't regret it!

In between exploring Hanoi, we decided to take a day trip to Ninh Binh, a historically significant province southeast of Hanoi. On our tour, we stopped at the Mua Caves in Tam Coc and climbed more than 500 steps to its highest peak ⛰️ Here's the view of the second highest peak since I was too out of breath to really document the one I was actually climbing 😵‍💫

A few months ago, I took a birthday trip to Vietnam with @annieahrendsen and here is my first báhn mì...ever. As soon as we woke up on our first day in Hanoi, we googled the best báhn mìs and were directed to Báhn Mỳ Mama near the cathedral. I must admit, I'd never had one in the states and wasn't sure what to expect but this was delicious! It was the perfect welcome to country #39 🇻🇳 and the start of our trip!

Boudhanath stupa 🇳🇵 a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal and the world. (In Nepal, they say its the largest in Southeast Asia, but who really knows...)

Good morning from Nepal! I'm back again for another work trip with @daiglobal. This time, I flew in a few days early and am exploring Patan/Lalitpur, just south of Kathmandu. Here's the view from my gorgeous apartment with @cosynepal 🇳🇵

On this trip, I was lucky enough to visit some of the western provinces and districts of Nepal where we're hoping to work someday 🇳🇵

Along the same thread as my last post, about 81% of Nepali's are Hindus 🇳🇵

Namaste! 🇳🇵 Another great work trip exploring a new country (#38)...Nepal नेपाल! It's definitely been a challenge trying to make time to sightsee, but thankfully I was able to connect with some great people and great tour guides during my short time here.
